The Blarney Boy, or Gavin as he is
known, began his professional career, under the direction of ex-Olympian Edie Tarves,
ridden by Samantha Jones. He completed his first eventing season as
junior Provincial Pre-Training champion in 2002. He moved up to
training level in 2003 and finished in the ribbons at most venues. His
last competition at Glen Oro Horse Trials in September saw him in first place
in very good company. He received the 2003 Combined Training Performance
Award of the Irish Draught Horse Society of North America. Gavin is currently training in Portland, Oregon with his
owner, Gabriella Métraux.
